Ex-NFL Player Kills 6 People and Himself

A former NFL player, Phillip Adams, killed six people, including a prominent doctor, in South Carolina on May 5. This prompted an hour-long search, which finally led the authorities to the suspect in a nearby home. Adams, however, had succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound by then. Authorities are yet to determine a motive. Adams, who was 32 years old at the time of the incident, played in a total of 78 NFL games for six teams, over five seasons. Authorities believe that there was no indication of a doctor-patient relationship between Phillip Adams and Robert Lesslie, the slain doctor.
