For probably the first time ever, Nicole Kidman opened up about her 11-year marriage to Tom Cruise, and what it was like being married to him while shooting for Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut in 1999, in which Cruise also starred. In the movie, Cruise and Kidman played the roles of a married couple who were dealing with infidelity.

In an interview, Kidman revealed she had a great time working with Cruise, although the shooting of the film took longer than they expected. At the start, Kidman mentioned they thought the shoot would last for three months. But, the three months turned into a year, which then turned into a year and a half. In total, Kidman said they shot for a whole of 2 years for the movie. During the time, the then-couple had two children and were primarily living in a trailer.
She said as much as they enjoyed working with Stanley Kubrick, there were at least a few times when they wondered when they would be able to go home. The interviewer asked Kidman if the theme of the movie (infidelity) affected their marriage in any way, to which she replied it didn’t because their relationship was extremely strong at the time. She also added that she doesn’t have the ability to look back and dissect her relationship with Cruise.
Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman were married in 1990 and split in 2001. They have two children – Isabella, aged 27, and Connor, aged 25, whom they co-parent. Since they split, Cruise and Kidman have both been extremely respectful of the privacy of their children.
Kidman then went to marry Keith Urban, with whom she has two daughters – Sunday, aged 12, and Faith, aged 9. Cruise also has a daughter, Suri, from his marriage to Katie Holmes.
